Introduction by John A. Kun, Vice President, U.S.-Ukraine Foundation

EUGENIA DALLASEugenia Dallas, a U.S.-Ukraine Foundation donor and friend, has devoted her life to exposing the atrocities that took place in the 20th Century through her book, One Woman, Five Lives, Five Countries.

Her mission is to reach as wide an audience as possible with her story and spread it to the public in the form of a motion picture. She has taken part in many organizations and events that work to help the people of Ukraine.

By age five in 1930, Eugenia had lost her parents and was forced to beg on the streets for bread. She, along with all of Ukraine, suffered from 1932 until the end of WWII.

At the close of the WWII, Eugenia managed to escape to Italy where her life changed drastically. She became a showgirl and a fashion model. Eugenia worked as a fashion model in Italy, Switzerland and the United States. In the US, she modeled for Neiman Marcus in Dallas, TX and Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.

In July 2007, a U.S. Congressional delegation visited the Famine-Genocide Memorial (1932-33) in Kyiv, where the members met with Ms. Dallas.  Eugenia spoke of her experience as a famine survivor and what she had to do in order to survive.  The memorial is dedicated to the millions of Ukrainians who died in one of the largest man-made famines to take place during the 20th century.

Congressman McIntyre (D-NC), noted, "I was touched by Ms. Dallas' story and by visiting this memorial.  It is imperative that we raise awareness here in Washington of this terrible tragedy in an effort to ensure that this never happens again."

Since Eugenia has lived all over the world, she has been required to learn many different languages. She is fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, German, French, Italian and English.

Currently residing in Los Angeles, Eugenia Dallas continues working diligently to get her story out to the public.   For more information about Eugenia Dallas, please visit her website at www.eugeniadallas.com.
